I’m not supposed to be eating sugar.
It’s annoying, and hard, and I cheat…. a lot. 😛
However, in the attempt of being good and obeying my doctor 😉 the other day when I was craving chocolate milk, I decided to come up with a version of chocolate sauce to use that was within my diet. It actually turned out pretty well I think. I may even like it better than Nesquick. 😉 Well anyway, here is the recipe.
:Sugar Free Chocolate Sauce:
1/2 Cup Agave
Scant 1/2 Cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
dash of salt
Whisk together in a small saucepan. Add in 4 ounces of water. Heat over medium heat to boiling. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour into a jar and let cool. Once cool cover and refrigerate.
For chocolate milk: stir in desired amount to milk of choice.
I think I might try some of mine drizzled on some raspberry sorbet. 😉 Yum!
Today is Suicide Awareness Day.
Audrey Hepburn once said: “People, even more than things, need to be restored, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Never throw out anyone.”
I think this should include yourself. Never throw yourself out. God has written a perfect story for you, created you especially for the part, and you are His child. Consecrated and Chosen. Dont give up on it.
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
You may never know the healing, or the destruction, that your words might cause in someones life. And this includes words you say to, and about, yourself. I am personally very guilty of being mean to myself. Choose to rehearse Truth and not lies.
Choose life, my friends. For yourself, and for those around you, but mostly because the King of kings decided you were worth dying for and then made you beautiful and wonderful and perfect for your own epic adventure. You’re never alone.
Today is Life Day.
One year ago I rear-ended somebody. I crunched the other car and totaled my Dad’s SUV. I should have been crunched. The whiplash I endured should have caused major trauma to my spine and caused neurological damage and seizures. It should have been really bad.
I walked away with one bruise on the inside of my lip, and a headache. My neck went the opposite direction from what it should have and my spine is actually better after the wreck, not worse.
It’s not Life Day because I wrecked. It’s Life Day because God decided that my life didnt end there. That I would be given this entire year of adventure and beauty and crazy epic story to live out that technically, I shouldnt have. That thought just makes me so excited!
And so, today I celebrate. Life.
Insane, gorgeous, unpredictable, wonderful, joy-filled LIFE.
Dont ever take it for granted.
Dont ever stop thanking God for it.
Dont ever lose sight of the intrinsic gift that it is.
Oh yeah… and Stay beautiful. 🙂
How long has it been since you had someone capture the smiles of the people you love the most? A picture is worth a thousand words, and all those words should be preserved and treasured.
It’s also getting to be time for the family Christmas picture. Photos make great personalized gifts for family and grandparents, and Inspired Life offers several photo book, canvas, and print options. You choose what you want, and I’ll do the work for you! It’s a Christmas present that gives to you too! 😉
I also have dates that I will be in the Oklahoma City area this fall if any of you are interested in booking a session.
A couple weeks ago I found myself in need of a luggage tag, with none of my usual ones currently available I decided to make one.
Who else thinks it’s a shame to waste pretty bags from nice stores? Well now you dont have to.
I just cut a squareish shape out of the top of one side of the bag, I wanted to be able to use the nice brass grommets to reenforce the ribbon attachment.
Then just fold in half, matching the holes up, and tape it up.
Oh and you’re going to need to undo the knots on one of the bag handles.
Fold the ribbon in half and pull the loop through the grommet, then the tails through the loop and knot the ends securely.
Write your name and intel on with a Sharpie. 🙂
There ya go, it’s just that easy. Remember that necessity is the mother of invention, and one must be resourceful when one has limited resources. 😉
Yesterday our pastor preached on How to Look at Life. It was a great sermon and I thought I would share the points with you and add in my own thoughts for good measure. 😉
1. Life is an Adventure
The RAF used to have a saying:
“Those who risk, win”
I love that. I love everything about. Risk and win, my friend. Are you living like it’s an adventure?
2. Life is a School
“Life is my college, may I graduate will, and earn some honors.”
Louisa May Alcott
Are you learning each day the lessons that life holds?
3. Life is a Gift
“And when I give thanks for the seemingly microscopic, I make a place for God to grow within me.”
Are you giving thanks for the beautiful gift of life? Are you counting the moments and treasuring them?
4. Life is a Stewardship
“Whatever you are, be a good one.”
Life is Good quote
How are you spending your life? Are you investing and loving the people that God puts in your path?
Just some thoughts for a Monday…
Happy Labor Day, people! 🙂
It rained today. 🙂
I went outside and felt the rain.
It was glorious.
Happy Friday to all of you and happy one-week birthday to my darling first nephew, Travis. 🙂
